My Leap Year Baby!
For many a Leap Day is just another extra day in the year. However, Leap Day is a very special time for me! On a fine leap day 8 years back in the year 2008, my little boy came into my life. That was the best day of my life!
Just like every other kid, my boy also loves celebrating his birthday with a birthday party with his friends. Of course, the fact that his date of birth comes only once in four years makes it a special time for us to celebrate.
Being a huge Star Wars fan, his birthday cake had to be based on the Star Wars theme. He also loves bowling and wanted it to be a bowling party with his friends. We booked 5 lanes at the local Bowl America for the kids. The best part was that almost all the kids we invited turned up for the party, we had about 30 kids in all. The kids had an amazing time bowling and enjoying the party!
I have been hard at work trying to make this day special for my boy. I have been so busy and quite exhausted, but all my exhaustion vanished the moment my son came running towards me after the party, hugged me and said “Thank you for the party, Mom! You are the best mom ever!“
That one reaction from him makes it all worthwhile!
