Top 10 Christmas Movies!
I have always loved watching movies in different genres and different languages. I enjoy watching movies from genres like romantic comedies, classics, action, sci-fi, horror among others. As a child, Iย used to enjoy watching Christmas themed movies with my family. Nowadays, it has almost become a tradition of sorts when my son and I watch at least a few Christmas movies during the festive season after his school closes for the winter break (which begins, by the way, at the end of this weekโฆ.Yaaayyy! :D)
So for this week, I decided to put together a list of our Top 10 Christmas movies of all times. (Note: this list is not based on statistics or any rating by movie websites, it is purely based on the favorites picked from this mom and her son’s collections!)
Without further ado, here is our list of Top 10 Favorite Christmas movies of all times in random order.
- Home Alone 1 & 2
This movie is about an 8-year old troublemaker who must protect his home from a pair of burglars. My son is a bigger fan of these movies than I ever was. Canโt blame him, can we?
- Elf
Elf is the story of Buddy who is transported to New York from the North Pole. The movie is about spreading the Christmas cheer.
- Miracle on 34th Street
This classic needs no introduction. It was released in the year 1947 and is based on a story by Valentine Davies.
- The Polar Express
The Polar Express is a 2004 American computer animated musical fantasy film based on the children’s book of the same title by Chris Van Allsburg.
- Itโs a Wonderful Life
Yet another classic definitely worth your time. This movie is about how a frustrated business man wishes he were never born and an Angel appears to show him what life would have been had he never existed!
- The Holiday
Two women troubled with guy-problems swap homes in each other’s countries, where they each meet a local guy and fall in loveโฆ.need I say more?
- Love Actually
8 love stories in one movie โ what more does a girl want? Love Actually is your movie if you are also a hopeless romantic like me!
- Unaccompanied Minors
This one is on the list because of my son. He loves movies where children are the main or only characters. This movie totally belongs to the minors! ๐
- Arthur Christmas
Imagine being Santaโs son and then being sent on a mission all the way from North Pole. Well thatโs what this movie is about!
- Mickeyโs Christmas Carol
For the longest time, I remember this was my favorite Christmas movie and now it continues to be a favorite in my little boyโs list!
I hope you enjoyed our list of Christmas movies. Do you have any favorites that you watch only during the holidays? Let me know!

I am sure you will enjoy the others too!
Love Actually….I liked it mainly because of the message it portrayed…the Love is actually all around us, we just need to look! Maybe that’s why it stuck with me! ๐

I’m a total sucker for It’s a Wonderful Life! I cry every single time I watch it! Yes it’s corny and dated but I absolutely adore Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed and the whole ‘what would happen if you’d never been born’ concept!
MindandLifeMatters
It is a brilliant concept, is it not? I love the movie for the same reason! ๐
thorsaurus
You’ve given me some new ones to watch. I would add “Christmas Vacation” and “A Christmas Carol” (the one with George C. Scott). I’m a sucker for Dickens’ dystopic London settings. ๐
MindandLifeMatters
A Christmas Carol is a good choice, I have seen it.
I hope you enjoy the new ones too! ๐

It’s a Wonderful Life, definitely. Can’t beat a good cry! Also, I know they’re not Christmassy at all but I would add the Sound of Music and/or The Wizard of Oz – just because they always seemed to be on at Christmas when I was a kid, so they feel sort of festive to me.
MindandLifeMatters
Sound of music and The Wizard of Oz are all year round movies…great choice by the way

This list is incomplete, where is Die Hard? :p
MindandLifeMatters
Haha…Die Hard is a good movie, but not one of my personal favorites! ๐

Every year we pick one movie we haven’t seen yet, and watch it with the he family on Christmas Eve. This year it’s Miracle on 34th street, so I guess we’re good! Our all time favorite so far though is White Crsitmas ( love the music!) with the Santa Claus as a close second!

A very good choice for this year! Miracle on 34th street is an amazing movie ๐
